SINCHOLD Successfully Completes Track Installation for King Salman Port Project, Earns Dual Honors with Outstanding Quality
On June 30, 2025, a celebration ceremony was held at the site of the King Salman International Comprehensive Port Facility Project (hereinafter referred to as the "King Salman Port Project") in Saudi Arabia to mark the full completion of the land-based works. SINCHOLD was awarded the titles of "Excellent Supplier" and "Excellent Subcontractor" in recognition of its superior product quality and exquisite installation craftsmanship.

Stringent Precision Requirements, Challenging Industry-Leading Standards
The King Salman Port Project is a key initiative under Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030." Covering an area of 11.25 square kilometers, it is set to become the world's largest "super shipyard" upon completion. The installation quality of the 1,600-tonne heavy-lift gantry crane directly depends on the precision of track welding and installation. The client, Saudi Aramco, imposed extremely high technical requirements, with track installation and operational tolerances strictly adhering to its rigorous internal corporate standards. Many core indicators have reached the industry's top tier:
Vertical Precision Requirements:
Track top elevation deviation: ≤ ±3mm
Base plate surface deviation: ≤ ±1mm
Longitudinal slope: < 1/1000
Joint misalignment: ≤ ±0.5mm
Horizontal Precision Requirements:
Gauge deviation: ≤ ±3mm
Overall straightness deviation: ≤ ±5mm
Weld joint gap deviation: ≤ ±1mm
Flatness deviation: ≤ 1mm over 1 meter, and ≤ 3mm over 10 meters
Such rigorous standards posed an extreme challenge to track welding and installation technology.
Superior Products + Meticulous Construction = Excellent Engineering
In response to these demanding requirements, SINCHOLD fully leveraged its deep technical expertise in the construction of large-scale industrial equipment foundations. The company assembled a dedicated technical team and innovatively developed a full-process track installation solution centered on "precise measurement + high-quality welding + strict verification":
Adoption of internationally advanced aluminothermic welding technology to effectively reduce welding stress and deformation;
Introduction of Leica high-precision total stations with an accuracy of ±0.5mm, enabling millimeter-level monitoring throughout the entire welding and installation process;
Technical personnel used the total station to establish a 3D coordinate system, with measurement control points set every 2 meters to calibrate track horizontal position and elevation in real time;
During welding, dynamic monitoring of track deformation data via total station, combined with computer simulation analysis, allowed for timely adjustment of welding parameters;
Upon completion of installation, a continuous 72-hour load test run was carried out.
By using the total station to track track displacement, all measured data outperformed the tolerance standards required by the client. Notably, the minimum joint misalignment reached only 0.2mm, and the flatness deviation over 10 meters was controlled within 2mm, fully demonstrating the ultra-high precision of SINCHOLD's track welding and installation.

At the ceremony celebrating the full completion of the land-based works, SINCHOLD received recognition and honorary certificates from PowerChina Shandong Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (SPECO) and Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co., Ltd., in appreciation of its excellent product quality and outstanding installation techniques.
Since the commencement of construction in November 2023, the SINCHOLD team has overcome harsh environmental conditions including extreme heat and strong sandstorms in Saudi Arabia. Facing the significant challenge of installing over 1,200 meters of track and 86 joints, the team achieved full compliance in weld acceptance and zero deviation in installation accuracy through its superb welding technology, rigorous management, and innovative solutions. This laid a solid foundation for the successful installation and stable operation of the thousand-tonne gantry crane. The successful completion of this mission not only received high recognition from Saudi Aramco but also further underscored the technical strength and brand influence of Chinese enterprises in major international projects.
