The coal mining industry is a typical heavy-industrial sector characterized by high intensity, high abrasion, and high safety risks. A wide range of critical transport and operational equipment—including underground working face transfer conveyors, shuttle cars, monorail locomotive systems, endless-rope winches, heavy-medium cyclone platforms in coal preparation plants, spoil tip car dumpers, storage yard stacker-reclaimers, and train loading station batch-weighing systems—must operate continuously and reliably under extremely harsh conditions. The traveling rail systems that support these critical machines endure heavy-load impacts, high-frequency operation, and intense vibration over the long term, while also being subjected to highly challenging environments including underground high humidity, strongly acidic water corrosion, coal dust accumulation, and floor deformation and settlement. The smoothness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance of the rail system directly affect extraction and transport efficiency, equipment service life, and the personal safety of underground personnel.
From Rail Fittings to Full Life-Cycle Services, Safeguarding the Safe Production and Transport Lifeline of Coal Mining
The coal mining and processing environment is characterized by high dust, high humidity, high corrosion, and soft-rock floor deformation. The rail systems relied upon by underground transport vehicles, monorail locomotive systems, and surface coal preparation/loading equipment are the foundation for ensuring the safe and efficient output of raw coal. We provide:
1. Industrially Designed Wear-Resistant and Corrosion-Resistant Rail Fittings
Core Products: Mining flat-bottom rails, heavy-duty crane rails, various types of rail clips (spring type/clamp type), fishplates (joint bars), gauge rods, track spikes, sleeper pads, insulating components, and more.
Wear Resistance Assurance: For high-abrasion scenarios such as frequent man-riding traffic in transport roadways and impact from waste rock, we provide rail head hardening treatment solutions to effectively extend the service life of steel rails under harsh underground operating conditions.
Corrosion Resistance Assurance: For underground acidic water corrosion and high-humidity environments, we provide hot-dip galvanized, epoxy-coated, and other anti-corrosion treated fittings, significantly reducing corrosion rates and decreasing the frequency of rail replacement caused by rusting.
Soft-Rock Foundation Adaptability: For tunnel conditions with soft, easily deformed and settled floors, we provide specialized leveling shim plates and adjustable rail clip systems, enabling regular calibration to compensate for floor deformation and maintain rail geometry stability.
2. Professional Rail Installation and Replacement Engineering
Underground Installation: For new mining area transport roadways, working face gate roads, or surface coal preparation plant renovation projects, we offer full-process construction from tunnel floor treatment, sleeper laying, rail hoisting and placement, to fine rail alignment—ensuring that the three key geometric parameters (gauge, level, and longitudinal level) fully meet the safe operation requirements of coal mining transport equipment.
Rapid Replacement: Coordinating with mine outage windows for scheduled maintenance, we carry out replacement of severely worn or corroded rails efficiently, minimizing disruption to raw coal production.
3. Rail Maintenance and Inspection Services
Rail Welding and Joint Reinforcement: Utilizing thermite welding or arc welding processes, combined with fishplate reinforcement, to eliminate or reduce joint impact, minimize repeated impact damage to rail joints from wheels, and extend rail service life.
Rail Geometry Inspection and Correction: Using track gauges, leveling instruments, and other tools to conduct regular inspection and assessment of rail settlement, gauge exceedance, and uneven leveling, and to provide targeted rectification plans for lifting, lining, and realigning tracks.
Rail Anti-Creep and Reinforcement: For steep-gradient tunnel transport sections, we provide installation services for anti-creep devices, rail anchors, gauge rods, and other reinforcement fittings to prevent longitudinal creep and gauge widening under heavy-load traction, ensuring transport safety.
Rails are the "lifeline" of coal mining transport. We do not mine coal, nor do we drive tunnels—we focus on just one thing: laying every meter of steel rail with smoothness and firmness, and treating every single joint with reliability and durability. Because a single runaway car derailment or rail fracture costs far more than equipment repair—it means personnel casualties and the shutdown of an entire working face. Our professional installation and regular maintenance ensure that "safety" becomes a reality a thousand meters underground.
Track Installation at a Steel Plant in Fujian
This project involved the installation of approximately 3.2 kilometers of heavy-duty rail tracks at a large steel plant in Fujian, covering raw material transport lines and the blast furnace casting area. Despite challenges including high-temperature operating conditions, foundation settlement, and the need to maintain continuous production, the team employed precision temperature-controlled tensioning techniques, high-strength fastening systems, and a phased off-peak construction schedule. The project was completed five days ahead of the 45-day timeline, with all track gauge and leveling tolerances exceeding national standards. The tracks have since maintained stable settlement and smooth operation, effectively supporting the plant's efficient and safe production.
Coal-Fired Power Plant Railway Track Project in Morocco
This project involves the modernization of industrial railway tracks for a large coal-fired power plant in Morocco. The railway system serves as a critical link for coal transportation, essential to the plant's continuous operation. Sinchold supplied rail clamp products for this project, ensuring track structural stability and fastening reliability. The key challenges included adapting product solutions to the specific characteristics of the Moroccan railway market and completing the upgrade while the power plant remained in full operation. By optimizing product compatibility and introducing fastening technologies suited to local conditions, the project team successfully supported the railway system's modernization, enhancing operational reliability and transport efficiency.
Qingdao Port, China
This project involved track installation along the wharf and yard areas at Qingdao Port. The key innovation was the upper pressure plate's active fit-and-lock design, which prevents rail loosening under heavy-load, high-frequency operations. The system also enables the use of pneumatic or electric wrenches, greatly improving construction efficiency and minimizing disruption to port operations. The track system has since performed reliably with excellent fastening stability.
Saudi Haden 2GW Photovoltaic Power Plant Fire Protection EPC Project
Located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, this 2GW solar project is a flagship initiative under "Saudi Vision 2030." Sinchold partnered with MINIMAX to deliver the full EPC scope for the fire protection system, including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Strictly adhering to international standards, the team achieved all safety, quality, and schedule targets, earning high client recognition. The project's success demonstrates Sinchold's strong EPC capabilities in new energy and complex industrial sectors.
King Salman Port Track Installation Project
Located at Saudi Arabia's King Salman Port Project, a key "Vision 2030" initiative set to become the world's largest super shipyard, Sinchold supplied rail clamps and performed track welding and installation for the 1,600-tonne gantry crane across over 1,200 meters of track. Client Saudi Aramco imposed industry-leading precision standards. The team used aluminothermic welding with total station real-time monitoring, achieving minimum joint misalignment of just 0.2mm and flatness within 2mm. Since November 2023, they overcame extreme heat and sandstorms, delivering first-pass weld acceptance achieved on every single joint and zero deviation, earning dual honors as "Excellent Supplier" and "Excellent Subcontractor."
China Wenchang Base
Located at China's Wenchang Space Launch Site, a key national aerospace project and one of the world's most advanced launch centers, Sinchold supplied high-precision rail systems and performed track welding and installation for the launch pad's heavy-load transfer equipment. The client imposed stringent precision standards to accommodate the extreme loads of rocket launches. The team employed advanced welding techniques with real-time monitoring, achieving results well within required tolerances. Overcoming tropical typhoons, high humidity, and saline corrosion, they delivered exceptional quality throughout all inspection phases.
Curated real-world projects that clearly demonstrate solution value and practical outcomes.
