The aerospace manufacturing industry is a typical high-precision, high-reliability, and high-value-intensive sector. A wide range of critical mobile equipment—including aircraft final assembly moving platforms, section docking transfer cars, engine transport vehicles, composite material automated fiber placement machine rail platforms, X-ray non-destructive testing scanning gantries, large wind tunnel test model transport vehicles, and rocket vertical assembly building transfer platforms—must achieve ultra-smooth, micro-vibration, and extremely high-precision displacement control. The traveling rail systems that support these precision machines face the dual and contradictory demands of heavy loads and precise positioning simultaneously, while also being subjected to multiple extremely stringent environmental challenges such as welding thermal deformation, foundation micro-settlement, and temperature gradient variations. The smoothness, straightness, and long-term stability of the rail system directly affect aircraft/rocket section docking accuracy, composite material forming quality, non-destructive testing imaging clarity, and ultimately, overall structural safety and launch mission success.

From Rail Fittings to Full Life-Cycle Services, Safeguarding the Precision Lifeline of Aerospace Superfactories

The aerospace manufacturing facility environment is characterized by extremely large dimensions, ultra-high precision, ultra-heavy loads, and strict cleanroom/temperature-controlled conditions. The rail systems relied upon by aircraft final assembly pulse production lines, rocket section docking platforms, and large wind tunnel equipment are the foundation for ensuring cutting-edge manufacturing precision and production rhythm. We provide:

1. Ultra-High Precision Rail System Design and Fittings

  • Core Products: High-precision crane rails, machine tool guide flat bars, precision rail clips (adjustable/fixed types), elastic fasteners, leveling shim plates, fishplates (joint bars), gauge rods, embedded base plates, and more.

  • Precision Assurance: For ultra-high-precision scenarios such as aircraft final assembly and rocket docking, we offer high-precision machining and supply capabilities for rail top elevation and straightness, fundamentally ensuring the absolute smoothness of mobile platform travel trajectories.

  • Environmental Adaptation: For temperature-and-humidity-controlled workshops, cleanroom environments, and coastal launch site high-humidity salt-spray corrosion, we provide anti-rust coatings, stainless steel materials, and low-outgassing surface treatment options to ensure long-term stability and contamination-free characteristics of fittings in clean environments.

2. Professional Rail Installation and Replacement Engineering

  • Ultra-Precision Installation: For new final assembly facilities, pulse production lines, or wind tunnel laboratory renovation projects, we offer full-process construction from precision surveying and set-out, high-strength foundation anchoring, rail hoisting and placement, to laser tracker-assisted fine alignment—ensuring that geometric parameters including gauge, level, longitudinal level, and straightness fully meet aerospace-grade equipment operational requirements.

  • Low-Disturbance Replacement: Coordinating with final assembly line outage windows or launch mission intervals, we carry out replacement of worn or precision-degraded rails using construction techniques that minimize vibration and dust generation, ensuring no contamination of clean workshops and no impact on surrounding precision equipment.

3. Rail Maintenance and Inspection Services

  • Precision Rail Welding: Utilizing flash butt welding or thermite welding processes, with joint flatness controlled to within extremely high precision levels, completely eliminating joint impact sources and ensuring zero vertical acceleration fluctuations when mobile platforms pass over.

  • Precision Rail Geometry Inspection: Using laser trackers, electronic levels, total stations, and other ultra-precision measurement instruments to collect and analyze three-dimensional spatial coordinates of the rail on a point-by-point basis, assessing settlement, deviation, and corrugated wear conditions, and providing high-precision correction and rectification plans.

  • Online Rail Grinding: Performing precision grinding on minor rail head wear and localized high spots to restore the rail profile to micron-level accuracy, enabling performance recovery without rail dismantling—significantly reducing maintenance downtime.

Rails are the "precision foundation" of aerospace superfactories. We do not build aircraft, nor do we build rockets—we focus on just one thing: achieving micron-level accuracy for every meter of rail, and ensuring absolute smoothness for every mobile platform movement. Because a millimeter-level deviation in section docking costs far more than rework—it means the scrapping of tens of millions of dollars worth of components and incalculable launch safety risks. Our precision installation and regular maintenance ensure that "zero defects" transforms from a slogan into reality.

Track Installation at a Steel Plant in Fujian

This project involved the installation of approximately 3.2 kilometers of heavy-duty rail tracks at a large steel plant in Fujian, covering raw material transport lines and the blast furnace casting area. Despite challenges including high-temperature operating conditions, foundation settlement, and the need to maintain continuous production, the team employed precision temperature-controlled tensioning techniques, high-strength fastening systems, and a phased off-peak construction schedule. The project was completed five days ahead of the 45-day timeline, with all track gauge and leveling tolerances exceeding national standards. The tracks have since maintained stable settlement and smooth operation, effectively supporting the plant's efficient and safe production.

Coal-Fired Power Plant Railway Track Project in Morocco

This project involves the modernization of industrial railway tracks for a large coal-fired power plant in Morocco. The railway system serves as a critical link for coal transportation, essential to the plant's continuous operation. Sinchold supplied rail clamp products for this project, ensuring track structural stability and fastening reliability. The key challenges included adapting product solutions to the specific characteristics of the Moroccan railway market and completing the upgrade while the power plant remained in full operation. By optimizing product compatibility and introducing fastening technologies suited to local conditions, the project team successfully supported the railway system's modernization, enhancing operational reliability and transport efficiency.

Port and wharf industry

Port and wharf industry

Qingdao Port, China

This project involved track installation along the wharf and yard areas at Qingdao Port. The key innovation was the upper pressure plate's active fit-and-lock design, which prevents rail loosening under heavy-load, high-frequency operations. The system also enables the use of pneumatic or electric wrenches, greatly improving construction efficiency and minimizing disruption to port operations. The track system has since performed reliably with excellent fastening stability.
